Come Out Australia is primarily a social group which aims to provide entertainment in many different forms for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (GLBTIQ) community through social events, activities and projects as well as a network of branches and contacts across Australia.
Whilst we are not a counselling service, many of our coordinators are trained to assist people in the coming out process and our branches and activities are designed to offer support through social interaction.
So far we have groups in Canterbury-Bankstown, Epping, Revesby, Sutherland, Adelaide, Batemans Bay, Dubbo, Forbes, Orange, Parks, Tamworth and Wagga and growing across Australia.
Over the spring and summer months we will be hosting a series of Picnics, BBQ’s,
Restaurant nights, Pub nights and sports related outings such as 10 pin bowling and
swimming etc, and commence a few other exciting projects for everyone, everywhere
to be involved in.
The events will take place in a wide array of suburbs across Sydney, so as to make
it convenient for all our branch members, supporters and the wider community to
participate in and get to know and meet each other, try new things and become
involved with us as contributors to COME OUT AUSTRALIA.
Formerly known as Rebellion.org.au The new Come Out Australia name more accurately describes our aims and objectives and alleviates some of the marketing problems faced by Rebellion Branches.
Whilst we may have undergone a name change our branches, events, projects and
commitment to the Gay and Lesbian community remains the same.
In fact we now have more branches and are developing new events all the time.
Rebellion will remain as the name for our dances and other major events.
The Rebellion site will continue to operate as the official site for these purposes.
